New Leadership for Southeastern North Carolina

A native son of Tabor City, North Carolina, Christopher M. Ward filed his notice of candidacy for the US House of Representatives District 07 on December 19, 2019. District 7 is home to some of the state’s most hardworking individuals from the Carolina crystal coast to the southern suburbs of our state’s capital; including Johnston, Sampson, Bladen, Pender, Columbus, Brunswick, and New Hanover County, as well as parts of Harnett County.

A product of a small town, Ward was born and raised on a farm in Tabor City of Columbus County, North Carolina. From a young age, he was taught the value of hard work and how to earn a fair day’s wage for a fair day’s work. The work ethic he learned in the tobacco fields of Columbus County carried Ward to graduate top of his class from Tabor City High School. Equipped with a passion for learning, Ward then went onto North Carolina State University where he studied Nuclear Engineering, the only program of its kind in the state. After graduation, Ward began to work in the pharmaceutical industry before finding his way back to the classroom, only this time to obtain his Masters in Organizational Change and Leadership from Pfeiffer University. Currently, Ward works to bring new drug products to market in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries while also owning a small local real estate business.

Ward will be running as a Democrat, but encourages North Carolinians of all political beliefs to stop and listen before they let that term turn them away. At the end of the day, Ward is cut from the same cloth as the dedicated and hardworking people of District 7. “I believe in common sense solutions. I believe that agriculture is the pulse of this community and deserves to be represented and protected. I will work hard to strengthen business and agriculture in the region while providing a fair wage to those who put in the hard labor.”, says Ward.

No stranger to the struggle of providing for a family on a laborer’s wage, Ward helped his father tend the family farm until sundown, and rose early the next day to go to church. He understands the value of hard work and a good education. Now in the position to give back to the very community that raised him, Ward is dedicated to making District 7 prosperous for its great people. As Ward says, “everyone deserves a fair shake, not just lip service”, and that’s exactly what he hopes to do if elected as the US House District 7 Representative.
